Hi, I’m Jonathan

Thanks for checking out my reel.

With a background as a contemporary artist, I’ve developed a strong appreciation for fine detail and an instinctive understanding of light, colour, and composition—skills that translate directly into my work as a compositor.

Originally from London, I’ve been fortunate to live and work in places such as Istanbul, Montreal, Halifax, and Toronto. Each new city and project has challenged me in different ways, shaping my artistic perspective and deepening my knowledge of compositing. These experiences continue to fuel both my love of visual storytelling and my passion for travel.

Whether refining a key, integrating CG elements, or tackling complex compositing challenges, I approach every frame with precision, creativity, and a commitment to quality.

Beyond visual effects, I’m an artist at heart. In my spare time, I create drawings and paintings, which can be seen at jjoubertdraw.com.

Feel free to check out my work or reach out— I am always happy to connect!
